Matthew Pleasant is a planner in the Tampa office. He has provided research, GIS analysis, and data collection for a variety of projects. His recent work includes the Vision Zero Action Plan for the Hillsborough County MPO, Tampa Riverwalk and Selmon Greenway annual performance measurement, and the US EPA's Health Places for Healthy People technical assistance program. His work is driven by an interest in the forces that shape a city, neighborhood, or block and how we can make these places thrive. Prior to joining Renaissance, he worked as a journalist in central Florida and south Louisiana. His reporting included the impact of the 2008 hurricanes Gustav and Ike and the Deepwater Horizon oil spill on small bayou communities.
