Matthew Pleasant is a planner in the Tampa office. He has provided research, data collection and GIS support for a variety of projects, including the creation of Hillsborough County’s Vision Zero action plan, Tampa’s Riverwalk, the Selmon Greenway annual performance measurement, and both of the EPA's Health Places for Healthy People and Local Foods, Local Places programs. His planning work is driven by an interest in the forces that shape a city, neighborhood or block and how we can make these places thrive. Prior to joining Renaissance, he worked as a journalist in central Florida and south Louisiana. His coverage included the impact of the 2008 hurricanes Gustav and Ike and the Deepwater Horizon oil spill on small bayou communities.
