What drives me...
I have a quote from Woodrow Wilson that hangs above my desk where I can read it every day, and twice on days when I come to question why we try so hard to do the right thing when it seems like the rest of the world doesn’t care quite as much about how we treat the planet or each other:
“You are here to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, and with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world. “
It would be extremely short-sighted to think that “I” know what is best for the world, but I find it my calling to use my energy and creativity to challenge the forces of conventional thinking to see a bigger picture and to embrace change that can bring us closer together in vibrant, diverse communities, make better use of our scarce resources, and leave the world a better place than the way we found it.
