Located just north of Raleigh, North Carolina, the City of Creedmoor is a small town within the greater Triangle area well positioned for growth. To ensure that this growth creates a positive future for the city, Renaissance is working with Creedmoor to prepare a Strategic Ten-Year plan. The plan will assist the community with strategic positioning, economic development, and project implementation assistance by combining already recommended projects with new projects, policies, and programs.

We developed an economic profile for Creedmoor that identifies the key assets of the city that can be leveraged to attract the most desirable type of growth. This was followed by a land suitability analysis to identify both demand-side and supply-side factors influencing the timing and nature of growth potential in Creedmoor. Combining this analysis with ideas generated through the public outreach process, the Strategic Ten-Year Plan identifies key public investments that will have the best lasting impact in terms of making the city a more desirable community to live, work, and visit.

Specific elements of the plan include:

  • Clarifying the city’s strong commitment to businesses and business owners, through initiatives including revitalization of the downtown district and other commercial areas.
  • Improving recreational facilities and activities provided by the city, for users of all ages.
  • Capitalizing on the city’s proximity to regional centers including Durham, Raleigh, RTP, and Chapel Hill.
  • Maximizing redevelopment opportunities in Creedmoor to overcome environmental factors and boosting return on investment in public infrastructure.
